Hackathon Mobility BCN
“Hackathon Mobility BCN” is open !
This hackathon sponsored by SEAT and ALTRAN focuses on these aspects: The future of mobility, our experience with it and the services derived from its use.
Phones were made to better connect us to the world: they were mainly designed as a tool for calls, but have evolved to make our lives easier. New technologies such as cameras, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have made our experiences with phones wider and better. Since we carry our phones most of the time, the context of their use is almost infinite.
Cars were made to better connect us to the world: just like our phones, they are evolving with the new technologies that are being introduced. Since the context of their use is basically the streets, their capacity to understand what’s going on around them and in the city will be crucial in the future of Mobility.
The car itself is the subject of research: our demands on our vehicles are increasing, as we want them to be more comfortable and easier to use. New applications and hardware help us to achieve this.
The hackathon, sponsored by SEAT and ALTRAN, focuses on these aspects: the future of mobility, our experience with it, and the services derived from its use. This creative event includes tutorials on key technologies. A wide range of devices will be available for use, and sensor data from a smart car will be provided to validate the solutions that are developed.
BIG IoT, with UPC and Seat partners, is participating and sponsoring this hackathon

Smart mobility challenge
The exchange of data between cars and cities is going to be crucial in the context of the future of mobility.
Every car is a portable device, full of sensors logging what’s happening on the streets.
What services are going to be created using the capacity to exchange data among thousands of cars and the city itself?
